Bailout Cylinder with Hip Holder

The Bailout Cylinder with Hip Holder, article number 5.10.219, is a compact emergency air supply designed for use within the breathing air and life support system. The unit combines the cylinder, pressure control components, connection hose and carrying holder in one complete bailout setup.

The system uses a 1 litre cylinder rated to 200 bar. A cylinder valve controls the stored air supply, while a 1st stage pressure reducer lowers the pressure before the air enters the rest of the breathing system. In addition, the assembly includes a pressure safety valve as part of the pressure control arrangement.

Connection to the Y-Manifold Airtech-Block

A dedicated connection hose links the bailout cylinder to the Y-Manifold Airtech-Block. This manifold acts as the central air distribution point within the APS helmet breathing setup.

The Airtech-Block includes a dedicated connection for the egress cylinder. Therefore, the bailout cylinder connects directly into the same manifold that manages the other breathing air sources.

The manifold also has independent connections for the umbilicals and a separate connection for a third air supply. In addition, two supply hoses run from the manifold to the APS helmet. This layout allows the bailout cylinder to remain integrated with the rest of the breathing air arrangement rather than operating as a completely separate system.

Compact Hip-Mounted Configuration

The cylinder comes complete with a canvas cylinder holder. The holder allows the worker to carry the cylinder at the hip. This keeps the emergency air source close to the body and near the Airtech-Block connection point.

The compact arrangement also keeps the connection hose, pressure reducer and cylinder together as one portable assembly. As a result, the bailout cylinder forms a direct part of the worker’s breathing air setup.

Part of the APS Helmet Breathing System

Within the full system, the Y-Manifold Airtech-Block distributes air from the available sources to the APS helmet. The bailout cylinder provides one of these dedicated air inputs through the manifold.
