Carbon Breathing Air Helmet
The Carbon Breathing Air Helmet provides respiratory protection, reliability, durability and wearing comfort for operations in inert environments. Hytech-Pommec designed the helmet for demanding industrial conditions where dependable breathing protection and long-term performance are essential.
The helmet uses a carbon fiber composite shell instead of traditional fiberglass construction. This high-performance material combines strength, resilience and mechanical resistance with a significant reduction in weight. As a result, the helmet remains robust while also improving wearing comfort during use.
The helmet is CE marked and certified according to EU Regulation (EU) 2016/425. When used together with the Hytech-Pommec Life Support System, it also complies with EN 14593-1:2018.
Carbon Fiber Composite Construction
The carbon fiber composite shell provides the strength and durability required for demanding environments. At the same time, the lower weight gives the helmet a clear advantage over traditional fiberglass constructions.
The composite material also offers excellent mechanical resistance and supports an extended service life. This makes the helmet suitable for repeated use in industrial conditions where equipment must remain dependable over time.
Because the shell weighs significantly less than conventional fiberglass helmets, the user carries less weight on the head. This lower weight contributes directly to wearing comfort without reducing the required strength and resilience of the shell.
Dual Air Supply and Regulator System
The helmet works as a positive pressure respiratory protection unit. It uses two air supply lines, each connected to its own independently functioning regulator.
The secondary line includes an additional egress connection. It also includes a purge flushing function on the secondary regulator.
In addition, the helmet uses a central exhalation valve as part of the breathing system.
The dual-regulator layout gives the helmet two separately functioning air supply paths within the same breathing setup.
Automated Egress and Anti-Panic Safety
The helmet includes an automated egress bottle system. This system engages in the event of pressure loss.
Hytech-Pommec also equips the helmet with an Anti-Panic safety lock. Together with the independent regulators and additional egress connection, this forms part of the helmet’s safety-focused breathing configuration.
Comfort and Fit
The helmet includes a full face seal and is available with two different seal sizes: small and medium.
An impact-proof polycarbonate visor protects the viewing area. Inside the helmet, flexible padding and a head-net support a more comfortable fit.
Hytech-Pommec also uses a turning wheel closure on the back shell for comfort adjustment. This system replaces the previous bladder pump system and gives the wearer a direct method of adjusting the helmet fit.
Full-Duplex Communication
The Carbon Breathing Air Helmet includes a full-duplex communication system. This allows the helmet to form part of the wider communication setup used during operations in inert environments.
For additional visual support, an HD camera with light module is available as an optional feature.
Transparent Protective Finish
A transparent protective coating comes as standard. This finish leaves the carbon fiber structure visible and highlights the distinctive appearance of the composite shell.
The clear finish protects the outer surface without covering the natural carbon fiber pattern.
Custom Colour and Design Options
Customers can also specify a custom external finish. Available options include RAL colour finishes, striping and other customer-specific designs.
These options allow the helmet appearance to match project or customer requirements while retaining the carbon fiber composite construction and intended use in inert environments.
