Life Support Umbilical Electrical Adaptor
This electrical adaptor provides the communication connection between the life support umbilical and the worker’s communication equipment.
The adaptor uses an EO Y-piece layout with three female connection points. The single connection on one side uses a 4-pin contra connector corresponding to the 4-pin electrical connector on the life support umbilical.
The umbilical contains an FCC-STP0502 4-wire communication cable alongside the breathing air lines. Its communication cable terminates in a 4-pin electrical connector, which provides the connection point for this adaptor.
Headset and Mask Microphone Connections
The split side of the adaptor has two connectors. Each consists of one single pin with double contacts.
One connector provides the connection for the headset, while the second provides the connection for the microphone in the breathing mask.
This Y-piece arrangement therefore divides the communication connection from the 4-wire umbilical into separate connections for the headset and mask microphone.
