Product description

Decompression Chamber Ø1800

The Hytech-Pommec Decompression Chamber Ø1800 combines straightforward operation with a comprehensive standard scope of supply. Hytech-Pommec designed the chamber for fast action, easy control and practical maintenance. Its over-dimensioned pressurisation system supports structural performance and improved flow. The chamber accommodates a maximum of four occupants: up to three in the Main Chamber (MC) and one in the Entrance Lock (EL). It has a maximum operating depth of 50 msw / 5.13 bar and an inside diameter of approximately 1,800 mm.

The MC supports three configurations: two occupants lying down, three occupants sitting, or two occupants lying down with one attendant. The standard chamber includes two foldable patient bunks with fire-retardant mattresses, a foldable EL seat, two 150 mm viewports and floor covering plates in both compartments.

Standard configuration

The integrated MC supply lock uses stainless-steel doors, one-hand operation and an interlock system. A skid foundation frame supports the chamber and provides space for twelve 50 litre HP air cylinders; the cylinders themselves are optional. Two lifting eyes support chamber lifting and handling.

Hytech-Pommec installs BIBS in both compartments as standard, including an overboard dump system. The MC has 3 + 1 mask connection points and the EL has 1 + 1 points. The BIBS masks themselves remain optional.

Standard electrical equipment includes the chamber communication system, internal speakers and microphones, a secondary hammer communication system, pressure-proof LED lighting, a digital Caisson indicator, triple countdown timer and an oxygen/carbon dioxide analyser. A UPS / back-up battery supplies critical equipment for a minimum of 2–3 hours.

The head-side control panel contains the operational controls, supply pressure gauges and two precision depth gauges. A hyperbaric fire extinguisher is standard in the MC.

Optional chamber equipment

Optional upgrades include a flowmeter, five BIBS masks, BIBS gas selection valve, Back Pressure Regulator, HP secondary air supply, STANAG 1079 connection, heating, emergency communication handsets, headset, CO₂ scrubber, oxygen make-up system, cooler, chiller, EL fire extinguisher and water deluge system.

The Digital Chamber Monitoring Control (DCMC) provides a 12-inch HMI for monitoring and control. A further automatic pressure-control upgrade replaces this with a 15-inch HMI and adds a profile controller, remote-controlled valves, PLC extension modules and software upgrades. Pre-programmed dive tables and Lloyd’s Register certification are also available.

Container configuration and options

Hytech-Pommec can install the DDC in an ISO/CSC certified 20 ft container with doors on both ends, basic electrical supply, separation walls and a 5 kg portable foam fire extinguisher. Container options include insulation, anti-slip rubber flooring, inverter cooling/heating, operator oxygen analysis, emergency breathing apparatus, an air-supply umbilical, offshore marine coating and a DNV-certified offshore container.
