Decompression Chamber Ø1600
The Hytech-Pommec Decompression Chamber Ø1600 is designed for straightforward operation, fast action and easy maintenance. Its pressurisation system is over-dimensioned for structural performance and improved flow. The chamber accommodates a maximum of four occupants, with up to three occupants in the Main Chamber (MC) and one occupant in the Entrance Lock (EL). The maximum operating depth is 50 msw / 5.13 bar.
The MC supports several occupant configurations: two occupants lying down, three occupants sitting, or two occupants lying down with one attendant. The chamber has an inside diameter of approximately 1,600 mm and an overall length of approximately 3,600 mm.
Standard configuration
The standard Decompression Chamber Ø1600 includes two foldable patient bunks in the MC with fire-retardant mattresses, a foldable seat in the EL and floor covering plates in both compartments. Two 150 mm viewports allow observation of the MC and EL.
An integrated supply lock in the MC uses stainless-steel doors, one-hand operation and an interlock system. The chamber stands on a skid foundation frame with space for up to ten 50 litre HP air cylinders. The cylinders themselves are optional.
The standard BIBS installation covers both compartments and uses an overboard dump system. The MC provides 3 + 1 mask connection points, while the EL provides 1 + 1 connection points. BIBS masks are not included in the standard configuration and are available separately.
Standard communication equipment includes the Hytech-Pommec chamber communication system, speakers and microphones in both compartments and a secondary hammer communication system. A UPS / back-up battery supports critical equipment for a minimum of 2–3 hours.
The chamber also includes pressure-proof LED lighting, a digital Caisson pressure indicator, triple countdown timer and an oxygen/carbon dioxide analyser with audible and visual alarms. The control panel contains the relevant operational controls, supply pressure gauges and two precision depth gauges.
A hyperbaric fire extinguisher is installed in the MC as standard.
Optional chamber equipment
Optional equipment allows the chamber configuration to be extended according to operational requirements. Available options include a flowmeter, five BIBS masks, BIBS gas selection valve, Back Pressure Regulator and HP secondary air supply.
Further options include a female STANAG 1079 connection flange, electrical heating system, emergency communication handsets, headset, carbon dioxide scrubber, oxygen injection level control, cooler, chiller and an additional fire extinguisher for the EL.
Hytech-Pommec also offers the Digital Chamber Monitoring Control (DCMC). This system monitors depth, supply pressures, flush rate, oxygen and carbon dioxide levels and optionally temperature. An automatic pressure control extension adds automatic, semi-automatic and manual pressure-control modes. Pre-programmed dive tables and Lloyd’s Register certification are also available as options.
Optional container configuration
The decompression chamber can also be installed in an ISO/CSC standard 20 ft container. Container-specific options include insulation, rubber flooring, inverter cooling and heating, operator oxygen analysis, emergency breathing apparatus, an emergency-air umbilical, offshore marine coating and a DNV-certified offshore container.
