Communicator 701 Diver Communication System
The Communicator 701 is a portable communication system designed for reliable communication between one diver and a tender. It provides a practical communication solution in a compact unit and can operate from several different power sources depending on the available setup.
The system uses isolation transformers to separate the diver connections from the rest of the electrical system. This protects the diver against exposure to high voltage and keeps the diver-side connections electrically isolated from the remaining system.
Flexible Power Supply
The Communicator 701 can operate from its internal battery, an external battery, or a mains supply. The internal battery is rated at 12 VDC, 3.2 Ah and can provide up to 24 hours of operation.
When powered from an external DC source, the communicator accepts a voltage range of 10 to 30 VDC. For mains operation, the system supports 100–240 VAC at 50–60 Hz, allowing it to operate across a broad mains voltage range.
The communicator has low power consumption, using 90 mA in standby and up to 1500 mA at maximum consumption.
Battery Monitoring
The Communicator 701 includes built-in voltage monitoring for the power supply. The Battery Low LED switches at 10 VDC, providing a clear indication when the voltage has dropped to the specified low-battery level.
If the voltage continues to decrease, the system automatically switches off at 8 VDC. This gives the operator a clear low-voltage indication before automatic shutdown occurs.
Portable and Rack-Mounted Options
The portable Communicator 701 measures 270 mm long, 250 mm wide and 175 mm high. Its imperial dimensions are 10.7 × 9.8 × 6.9 inches. Including the battery, the unit weighs 4.8 kg / 10.6 lbs.
In addition to the portable configuration, the Communicator 701 is also available in a rack-mounted version. With multiple power options, low power consumption, battery monitoring and isolated diver connections, the Communicator 701 provides a dedicated communication system for one diver and one tender.
