The Air Tech Block connects the air supply hoses from the umbilical to the breathing system. The block mounts directly on the wearer’s belt. This keeps the main air connections close to the body.
Two air supply hoses from the umbilical connect to the block. These hoses provide the primary and secondary air supplies.
A 90 cm hose runs from the Air Tech Block to the breathing valve of the mask. This hose carries the air supply from the block to the breathing system.
The breathing valve also connects to a 2 litre bailout cylinder through a second hose. Therefore, the wearer has an escape air supply available if both the primary and secondary supplies fail.
The Air Tech Block brings these connections together in a compact belt-mounted setup. It connects both umbilical air supplies and provides the onward connection to the mask. At the same time, the breathing valve connects to the bailout cylinder for emergency escape.
